History
of the Campus

Campus WOB was born in 2001 with the firm purpose of offering its participants a unique experience and a first class offer based on quality.

In 2004 we announced our first NBA star, Seattle Supersonics slam dunk champion Desmond Mason.

Our first technical director was Randy Knowles, one of the best shooting coaches in the world, and a real showman. He was followed by illustrious players such as Daniel Pintor, Bernardo Rodríguez and Rubén ‘el Colo’ Wolkowyski.

More than 25,000 boys and girls from all continents and over 20 countries have enjoyed the WOB experience, further nurturing our vision and enriching our culture.

Real sports legends such as Jason Kidd, Carmelo Anthony, Manu Ginóbili, Paul Pierce or James Worthy, have shared the court with our Wobers, being the only summer camp in the world with such a record of guest stars.

More than 125 professionals looking after our Wobers. An unbeatable ratio in the sector of camps for children and teenagers: one instructor for every four Wobers!

We are the first camp in Spain to introduce emotional education in all its modalities. In addition, in each edition we implement improvements, activities and workshops related to self-care and health.

Great artists from Cirque du Soleil, cinema, music and show business have collaborated and continue to do so with us, edition after edition.

At Campus WOB we collaborate every year with a social project, we call it ‘Proyecto Amigo’. We especially remember with great affection the Safari Choir from Uganda, Africa, who visited us in 2017 in one of the most beautiful editions of the campus.

There is not a proposal like this anywhere else in the world, with such innovative activities, first class professionals, homemade food and unbeatable facilities… and, what’s more, in Malaga.

Every year we give scholarships to more than 30 boys and girls at risk of social exclusion, making the campus experience possible for many Wobers with fewer financial resources or in extreme poverty.

We are committed to artistic disciplines. Painting, theatre, dance, music, acroyoga, martial arts are part of our DNA, promoting creativity and personal development within a context free of conditioning.

We create a new conceptual theme every summer to raise awareness and learn to respect all forms of life on planet Earth.

We design stunning evenings on a par with the best European festivals, such as our popular Silence Disco.

We have our own radio station: Wobland Radio, our unique way of starting the mornings with positivity, joy and good humour.

We are the campus with the highest media coverage in history… And that’s not for us to say.

We have an exclusive 5-minute daily audiovisual programme, recorded and edited with the collaboration of our Wobers, broadcast every night on our giant 12-metre screen and on social networks for the enjoyment of fans and family members.

WOB is an educational project focused on self-discovery and personal development through freedom and teamwork that enriches the boys and girls who go through the camp, and their families congratulate us for it.

At Campus WOB we have an absolute commitment to people with any type of disability, whether they are participants or professionals who visit us every summer, like the protagonists of the film ‘Champions’.

In 2020, we were one of the few summer camps in Spain, out of more than 40,000, that decided to open our doors for the sake of the children and their families.

Andalucía, CaixaBank, Nike, Carrefour, US Airways, Coca Cola, Under Armour, Bancaja, Antena 3, Tacobell, BMW, Adidas, DKV… are some of the friendly brands that have accompanied us over the years on this beautiful journey.

Juancho Hernangómez ha sido el único jugador que ha acudido en tres ocasiones como estrella invitada al Campus. Amaya Valdemoro lo hizo en dos ocasiones. También nos han visitado personajes tan queridos como Antoni Daimiel y Andrés Montes, o figuras de la talla de Mike Smith, Daniel Hierrezuelo y María Peláez.

We are committed to women’s sport, being the only campus in Spain with more girls than boys, having received the visit of great references such as Laia Palau, Anna Cruz, Cristina Ouviña, María Conde, Raquel Carrera, Sandra Ygueravide, Mariona Ortiz and Andrea Medina.

In 2024 we celebrate the first 100% female campus in Spain, Campus WOB Football girls.

25 editions later, we keep our enthusiasm intact and work throughout the year to make every minute of the Campus memorable.
